Laleston

The 2012 London Olympic torches were carried through Laleston by Mitchell and Steffi Allen on the journey through Wales.
Glamorgan students took part in the Olympic torch relay

Representatives from the University of Glamorgan carried the Olympic Flame as it passed through South Wales. 18 year old Mitchell Allen from Merthyr Tydfil, carried the Flame through Laleston on the 26th May as part of the relay with his 14 year old sister, Sfeffi Allen.  Mitchell was nominated for his community work with both youngsters and adults in his sport of judo. He had also taken part in well over 2000 hours of voluntary work.
